1992 bonneville ssei starts, stalls then wont start
first off, i just got this car and im very new to domestic cars...
started fine when i picked it up. but i did notice the sevice engine soon light was on but i just figured it needed a tune up. went and got gas and drove it to my buddys house. when i was about to go home it wouldnt start. It turns but wont fire? Im thinking low fuel pressure just because we tried to boost it and it didnt help. oh and i think that i can hear the fuel pump prime up as well. any advice would be great. (oh and i tried searching and couldnt find what i felt was the problem)
TIA Vince

Can you explain what you did?
I'd also check a couple plugs & see if they're wet or dry.

well i tried to start the car and it turned over but wouldnt fire up.... if that makes sense
so we tried to boost the car with booster cables and it had no effect. could it maybe be a coil?

LOL - I thought you tried boosting the fuel pressure.
Yes coils can get weak or just completely quit. Here'* a way check them out.

ok so here it is...
1) starter sounds like its working strong
2) it had battery life (before i killed it trying to start it)
3) i checked the valve on the fuel rail and gas spit out
4) im lost lol
i can check the coils and report back. any other hints?

And please put "92 SSEi" in your signature.
Fuel and Fire. That'* what it comes down to if the motor is turning over but not firing.
Check your fuel PRESSURE at the rail with a gauge. Should cost you under 15 bucks.
Check for spark at at LEAST the front three cylinders.

If ONE coil is bad (I assume you have the 3 small coils?) well the car should start and run a little, even if but very rough.
If NONE of the coils are giving spark, then don't just go buying 3 new ones, first find out if there power even going to the coil pack.
