is there something that can fail in the tb or intake that can cause these symptoms?

Possibly MAF or TPS... But I'm almost doubtful that either one of these is bad...

All I can say is that you need to know what the PCM is seeing and doing before going any further... Unless you have parts to throw at it..
How about the Idle Air Control ( IAC ) valve? If that got gummed up with carbon and isn't working correctly it can cause these problems as well.

Anyone on here on long island with a scantool, or an otc pathfinder chip I can use with my otc2000 to diag this thing?

Saturday, I am going to drop the cat out to see what that does. Anyone think I may have fouled the IAC? 60 bucks at otter zone, maf is 120, I hate just throwing parts at a problem

I doubt they have any. If you do it wrong (very thorough instructions are easily available), how is it thier fault?

SeaFoam has been around and in use loner than any of us. I remember my dad using it when I was little....

Running seafoam breaks off all the carbon, and it has to go somewhere. It may have clogged the cat up...
