1992 BONNEVILLE LEFT DRIVE AXLE
Hey Guys,
I would like to get some advice from you guys. I am going to replace mom and dad'* left front drive axle on there 92 se w/ 3.8L. Inner boot is ripped and probably has been for a while. what do i need to do to slide this new one in? I admit i mostly work on Dodge caravan and Ford trucks, i have not worked on there Bonnie much. this looks straight forward, unhook sway bar, knock balljoint loose, disassemble and install new one. anything special with the tranny end? any miscellanious pieces parts that i should replace while i am in there? I am going to do the standard brakes and Rotor when i have it apart. Any thing else?
thanks very much, Guys.
Micheal

If you disconnect the sway bar you should have an easier time lowering the Lower control arm... I'd drop the ball joint like you suggested, possibly move the tie rod end out of the way... as long as there isn't a lot of rust on the splines of the axle it should come out pretty easy, the clip on the inside of the transaxle may give you a little bit of a fight but should come out... Just removing these items as stated, you will retain the same alignment...
If you have done the dodge and ford axles, you should be fine... Its not too bad of a job
