Now that its running well (MAF sensor replcmnt), I am wondering about another trouble with my 87SE. I have a wicked "slide-bump" into 2nd at part throttle. If I go easy on the gas its not bad, also if I boot it, it seems ok. I am being vey optimistic here, but is there any chance the vaccuum modulator is faulty? Hose and conn'* look good. It is clearly a junkyard replacement tranny. Your experiences would be most welcome.

Is it only when the Transmission is warming up, or at all part throttle shifts no matter the run time of the car? Because I know exactly what you are talking about, At about 125k my tranny did the same thing, and at 130k the tranny was flushed by a pro, and the filter changed, and the tranny shifts so smooth everywhere in the rpm range [a little rough in the winter, but still a whole lot better than it was].

You might be right, Justin. Most of our driving is short hops. I will evualuate the problem from this perspective. I would be thrilled if a regular service could cure this.Thanks.
