This only happens around turns? It'* something to do with the strainer whatnot assembly. Gotta drop the tank to inspect.. possible baffles, probably not. Not a common problem on these cars.

Fill the damn thing up and don't let it get low. Maybe his gauge is a bit off and he is actually lower than he thinks. Besides, your fuel is what keeps the pump cool, the more you run it low, the harder it is on the pump.
It costs the same to top it up from 3/4 to full as to fill it from empty to 1/4 tank.

Fuel filters should be changed at least once a year depending on mileage, I have had a car that was maybe a couple years old and the fuel filter started to plug up. You could be driving along and then BOOM no power, rpms drop then all of a sudden it comes back again.
It wasn't just in corners, actually it was mostly driving straight when it would start to act up.
One question here, you mentioned that it does it when low on fuel, does it do it when it is between half and full???

I know they are supposed to be replaced annually, however I am just proving even if you don't, it seems to be alright [at least on these cars].
Of course, it couldn't hurt.. but the only reason I haven't replaced mine, is because it works, and the gas I would lose changing it is already too much [I steal gas from our mower.. sad, I know].
