Default SSE'* speakers

On my 89 there weren't any front dash speakers from the factory. Did anyone have these in their car? I put some in and had to run wire--sound difference is amazing!!
You'd think they would come stock!!

I think the base model sound system has the 4x6'* in the dash, while the premium sound doesn''t, but has the 3.5'* on the door, and on the rear deck [or its that they have the 5 1/4'* in the door.. and the two extra 3.5'* on the rear deck.]

WTF? I thought what I had was normal.

I used a pic from Tonyrodz' CarDomain page and outline where I've got speakers...

You guys telling me you don't have speakers like the one pictured here?

The spots are there for speakers but if you "dig" closer those holes are empty. They just use the same dash for all models and just add the door speakers for the better sound system.

I don't have the one'* on the dash, but I have the two on the front doors, and the 4 on the rear deck

If it did I don't have it. I've dug into where all of my stock speakers are and haven't found a sub anywhere.

Nope, the "bass" [i don't think it can even be called that] is all from the 6x9'*, I was curious about the sub myself, but i never found a singal bit of info confirming that.

The factory wiring diagram shows the rear 6x9s to have two coils. The first coils are full range and powered by the radio. The other coils are powered by the amplifier and are one channel split to the two speakers. It is refferred to as a subwoofer in the diagram
