My car cut off on me this morning...

yes, I agree with that, because if the car runs, even if not for long, mechanically it works, because mechanical stuff doesn't just up and die, its electrical that can up and die.

Hello all! I decided to start with the cheapest item first and then I'll work my way up. I have the fuel pump relay but need help in where to place it. I've included some pictures to help. I'll try the crank sensor next since it'* $39.99 at Pep Boys.
Thanks for any help! I'll make it up to you guys (and gals! ) somehow!! I still need to get a manual but things are hectic since we're moving now as well. [/b]

Nice job on the pics!
Relay #3 is your fuel pump relay.
Your 2nd pic shows the MAF sensor.
I'm uncertain about your 3rd pic.
There is a way to test your fuel pump relay. Behind the battery towards the fender there will be a connector (green usually) with a grey wire. If you apply +12v to this wire, it will activate the FPR. It'* best it you have a pressure gauge connected to the fuel rail so you can actually see that the pump is working.

I thought you said the fuel pump primed? If so, forget the fuel pump relay. Your second picture is the MAF sensor. Hard to tell the third from the perspective, but it does look like the crank sensor. Can you shoot it from farther away? Maybe someone more familiar with the 87-91 can clarify that one.

Also If you have an autozone around check with them and see how much their Wells Crank sensor is for your car... I think the price could be better... Good Luck..

I would have the fuel filter checked first then I would dismantle the fuel pump to see
what is in there to ensure that the fuel line are not clogging up during operation.

I've looked through this thread and thought about one possibility, usually happens more on Fords, but here goes: Could the fuel pump be overheating and shutting down (vapor-locking)?
