Inner tie rod end replacement
Hey again guys.
I need to replace my inner tie rod ends (i did the outers a while back but the inners need to be done too). I went to a shop and they said i need the inners/outers done. So after i did the outers i took it back and they said i need the inners. Anyway my Chilton'* says to remove the steering gear and do it with the gear removed but I've heard I can do it just fine under my car.
Reading the instructions it seems overall not too complicated except on one part of the installation where it says I have to stake the new inner tie rod end. But it shows no pics / explains how to stake it in. I don't get it, anyone ever have to stake the tie rod ends with something for installation? Anyone ever do the tie rod ends at all?
Thanks,
Mike D
p.*. i'd let the shop do it if it was cheap but they want to charge over $300 (u.*.d) for the job. Bunch of crooks!

I'm not sure... but $300 USD seems high....
I thought I had mine changed for like $150 CDN..... but that was years ago... and I maybe thinking of something else.
Also... check your shocks... I went thru tie rod ends like water until I found out my struts where toast.
