Epoxy? Where do I get stuff like that? I wanted to try plastic glue first but that did not last very long. The problem is that the plastic thingy only winds half way around the lever, making it even more unstable. On the other side of the lever it needs the space for the cruise cable. So I dont think that fish-wire would help, unfortunately.

But thank you very much for this idea, it sure is a great method to fix other things permanently.

Now I see you're in Germany. Expoxy is a 2 part glue.

According to Google, y'all call it "Epoxid"

Unfortunately, I don't know of any better way to explain the SpiderWire/FireWire/IronThread stuff. They are brand names for kevlar based fishing lines. We got fishe here that shoot back, y'know.....
