Default got my 91 SSE back from teh shop at last!

after it being there for almost a week since the repair guy was out sick, they called and said yes the fuel pump was fine at idle but when going into turns it would dip down to 20 sometimes lower, it was fixed by the place I got the car from so I was very happy! Wow what a Hugh difference a new fuel pump has made in it

Also has anyone tried or know if the 92 gold lace rims will fit on our cars? Mine has the wonder older gold lace that the center caps fall off of or get stolen from. I posted a wanted ad for this and the taillights as well also.

The taillight, I am a bit confused here. I don’t want SSE ones as I know there isn’t much chance on finding any in good shape, I want the yellow and red one'*, I would like to have the ones without the clear lens on the outside. I seen a SE with the yellow and red the other day and it had the clear lens and one was cracked and the other was fogged up. So what model came with the non clear lens for the red and yellow ones?

Thanks

Donnie H.

well, I am very glad I didn’t buy the one off eBay the other day, there was one on there that didn’t have the clear Len’* and there was another seller that had one with the clear lens on it. Maybe it had got damaged and they removed it.

I removed the rest of the clear from my passenger side and along with the grills in it being broken; lucky as it still holds the reflector in the base is a little loose oh well

Odd, I will have to keep looking for more of the ones without the lens then so I can look and see if they did remove the clear cover part

Default lens

click my link and check out my 89 se lenses. There is no clear plastic to cloud up and I like the performance look.

If I had a choice I would go with the SSE tails and break off the clear plastic, and drill drain holes in the bottom. I think they have a cool 3d look and are more sporty than the SE/LE tails. I guess I am partial, but they have a much different look than anything else out there, especially for an older car.
And about those wheels, the 92 crosslaces will fit. ANY wheel that is on a 87-current bonneville will fit. (and I think all large frontwheel drive gm cars)

I do have to say I love the original SSE lenses- I even have ones that are separating and I only use them for winter. The summer ones are are in mint condition. They are definitly hard to find though...good luck with that. But I might have some that may come up for sale this summer, not sure about that yet.

Found and got my taillights today! I stopped by an auto parts place (last one I figured to check) and the guy said well I think I have a few Bonneville’* out there go have a look, anyway he had a few se’* no tails of course and no SSE of course on the lot, but he did have a few of the Le and base I guess that had the Yellow and red tails with the clear lens.

I grabbed the two best ones (very very good shape) and went back to the office, he said well that cars old and those old taillights like that (I was thinking ok here we go he’* going to say 100.00) he said they would most likely sit out there and rot if you didn’t get them so 20.00!

I was like sweet 20.00 for 2 almost new shape tails, however the hole wasn’t the right size as everyone knows, so I had to open it up a bit to get the bulb to fit and then silicone around it. Overall I am ok with them better than one SSE with no grill and cover and one with cover and grills in it.
