Fixed my clunk in reverse.

Well i figured out what my clunk was, by accident really. The lower balljoint nut was backed out about a half inch! Boy was i lucky that didn't come off. I wonder how this happened, because the cotter key was still in there.

No it was everytime i pressed and released the brake i'd get a clunk. Like this: "Reverse, roll backwards, hit brakes, CLUNK, let go, give a little gas "CLUNK", hit brakes, "CLUNK". It took me forever to find it.

Mine only clunks on cold-engagement. I know it is due to the motor mounts being all shot.. but I am kinda scared to raise the engine and replace them all
. I'll wait until I know the car runs and drives.. and if I still have money I will do it.

Nope it never did it going forward once. Only in reverse. I thought it was motor mounts too but they all checked out "OK" at the best.
