Cleaned IAC, now there's a delay when hitting the gas

Well haven't had a chance to take the car in yet but I put fuel injector cleaner in two times after I filled her up with gas. Seems to have done the trick. Runs better and doesn't stall or hesitate as bad.
I had an oil change 2 months ago, then last month a added one quart and now it says I am a quart low again. Any ideas?
Hubby wants to just turn the car in and get a new one. I said no way I will keep it as a second car since we don't have a payment. Are there places that will give the car a good looking over to see what may need to be replaced. Hubby also told me we can't put a lot of money in to the Bonnie. For some reason I really like the old hoopty mobile. ha ha.

Thank you good idea. Is it common for cars our age to need the fluids replaced often? I just had to put trans fluid in. Sorry don't know when it was filled last I have only had the car a few months. Someone also told me to check the spark plugs just to get a better performance. What do I look for ? thank you sorry I am just learning about cars and if you can believe it I know more then hubby does thanks to all the help I have gotten on this board

With old cars, the problem lies more in when the last time it was done. Often times with older cars they aren't cared for as well as new cars. And unfortunately that may cause some damage, or at the least cause you to have to replace a lot of stuff at one time. Just keep up with the maintenance and you'll get plenty of life out of the old girl .
For the plugs, not just check them, replace them. Always a good idea every year to replace them. Grab a set of AC-Delco, they came from the factory with those, and they are by far the best. The AC-Delco model number is R45LTS6. Gap them at .060" Also grab a set of new plug wires while you are at it. I personally use the Beldens, and love them. They are available at Napa. Be sure to get them in 8mm, and you may need to get it for a '93 Bonneville if they don't have it for your'*.
